Former X Factor host Luke Jacobz has revealed the tragic reason he left Australia for Los Angeles in 2015.
The I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star revealed the reason he left Oz for the bright lights of Hollywood four years ago didn’t have anything to do with promoting his acting career.
Speaking to TV Week, Luke, 37, discussed the move was really a distraction from the grief he was experiencing after losing his father to brain cancer in 2015.
The former Home and Away star told the publication, “I thought if I went over there, I’d be distracted.”
In an interview with News.com.au, Jacobz also revealed it was the family tragedy that drove him to enter the South African jungle and compete on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
Discussing losing his father, Jacobz told the publication his passing, “Overtook and it just completely changed mine and my family’s life, because it was just all of a sudden everything was fantastic and then it just turned around.”
Luke has revealed the prize money will go to his chosen charity Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, founded by The Project host, Carrie Bickmore.
