Miriam Rivera, who rose to fame in the mid-2000s as a contestant on Big Brother, was found dead by hanging at her home in Hermosillo, Mexico, on February 5.
Miriam’s husband, Daniel Cuervo, has maintained the star’s death has been ‘passed off’ as a suicide, and suspects foul play was involved after the television personality allegedly refused to accept work as a prostitute.
Recalling the day before Miriam’s passing, Mr Cuervo said: “On the morning of February 5, Miriam called me [in New York] from Mexico, telling me she was feeling sick and vomiting blood, so I told her to get to the hospital.
“She called me again before leaving the hospital at 12 pm and that was the last time we spoke.”
Mr Cuervo claims that after his wife’s passing he asked if her body could be flown to New York.
Unfortunately, he was informed that Miriam had been cremated before an autopsy had taken place.
Miriam’s friend Jeanett Ørtoft also believes her friend’s death to be suspicious.
“Some say she was killed for going against human trafficking, iters say that she took her own life.”
