All good holiday must come to an end, and that’s even the case for the royal family!
Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip have enjoyed their annual vacation in Balmoral, Scotland over the summer, but the couple have now headed back to London.
The royals were spotted boarding a private jet at Aberdeen Airport, as they made their way home.
Of course, the Queen doesn’t go anywhere without her beloved dogs, and what appears to be a corgi was also seen boarding the plane with the royals.
The 92-year-old monarch has always had a soft spot for corgis owning several of the dogs over her lifetime, three of which appeared in the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony film the Queen participated in.
It appears that on the Queen’s return to London, a dog was carried up the stairs onto the plane by what is believed to be a staff member.
The Queen was rugged up in a grey coat for the occasion with a patterned headscarf while Prince Philip was sporting a white shirt and a dark coloured jacket as they embarked the plane home.
The royals have clearly enjoyed their summer break in Balmoral often spotted driving around the grounds of their Balmoral residence and regularly attending church with family and friends.
But, the fun isn’t coming to an end just yet as the royals return home in time for their grand-daughter, Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
The princess is set to tie the knot with Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle on October 12.
There has been speculation that Philip may not be well enough to attend the wedding after having hip surgery earlier this year.
However sources say that if he is well enough he will be there.
“He absolutely adores Eugenie,” a palace insider told Express.
“He can’t stand up for very long, which makes church services hard work and he can’t stand Fergie, but he wants to see Eugenie married and, if he is fit enough to be there, he will be there.”
