Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, did not attend Princess Eugenie’s Royal Wedding on October 12 due to a “prior arrangement”. Now, Sarah Ferguson has revealed what she really thought of Prince Charles’ wife’s decision to skip the big family occasion.
The Duchess of York was not offended by the royal snub, praising the royal for sticking to her plans to meet pupuls at Crathie Primary in Aberdeenshirt.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Sarah said: “I think it’s wonderful she kept to her engagement, especially as it was with children.
“She’s a wonderful lady and was a great friend of my mum.”
Fergie’s comments come a month after her daughter Eugenie wed long-time partner Jack Brooksbank in a spectacular ceremony at St George’s Chapel.
Most members of the Royal Family, including the Queen and Prince Philip, attended Eugenie’s special day, as well as a host of celebrities.
But Camilla was noticeably absent from the second royal wedding of the year, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married at the same location in May.
In the same interview, Sarah discussed her relationship with Prince Andrew, who she divorced in 1996.
Sarah said: “We’re the happiest divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other.”
And the Duchess of York did not rule out the possibility that the pair could one day remarry.
Sarah said: “So many people have asked me that, but we’re so happy with the way we are right now.
“We enjoy each other’s company, we allow each other to blossom. I know it sounds like a fairy tale but that’s the way we are.”
