Anne Hathaway carved a name for herself early in her acting career by playing the iconic role of shy San Francisco teenager turned heiress to a European throne Mia Thermopolis in the Princess Diaries.
But it seems the Oscar-winner’s connection to royalty runs deeper than her on-screen character as Anne was spotted discreetly heading to the glamorous wedding reception of Lady Gabriella Windsor and financier Thomas Kingston over the weekend in London.
Dressed in a flowing yellow maxi dress adorned with dark floral print, the Hollywood star arrived at upscale Belgravia restaurant Tart on the arm of her husband Adam Shulman to celebrate Lady Gabriella – who is the daughter of the Queen‘s first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent – and her new husband.

The event was the third royal wedding held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in less than a year, following Prince Harry‘s marriage to Meghan Markle in May 2018 and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s October nuptials.
While the reason for Anne’s attendance at last weekend’s royal wedding remains unclear, the Les Miserables lead previously revealed how another royal couple have heavily influenced how she parents her two-year-old son, Jonathan Rosebanks.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Anne said she was inspired by the way Prince William and Kate Middleton interact with their three young children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis.
“They get down on the child’s level and speak to them eye to eye to make their child feel empowered.
“I thought that as really cool – I started doing that with Jonathan,” she said.
