Little did she know that she would go on to become the first British monarch in history to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, having spent 70 years on the throne.
To mark the historic event, Her Majesty the Queen and members of the royal family will fulfil various engagements, including the iconic Trooping the Colour, which will culminate with the Platinum Jubilee Weekend in June.
