The younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson regularly shares sweet throwback shots of the girls as children to her official Instagram account, and her latest post has sparked vibrant debate about the uncanny resemblance between Beatrice and perhaps her most famous royal relative.
In honour of what would have been Queen Victoria’s 200th birthday, Eugenie, 29, posted an album of photos with the caption: “Today marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria (1819-1901).
“She reigned for almost 64 years and I’m very proud to be named after her. The first image is a portrait of Queen Victoria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) @royalcollectiontrust.
“The second is of Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, who played Victoria and Albert in The Young Victoria (2009) – a film produced by @sarahferguson15.”
The touching tribute was a hit amongst royal fans, with many comparing the likeness between Eugenie’s great-great-great-great-grandmother and her older sister, Hello! Magazine reports.
One eagled eyed follower said: “Your lovely sister resembles her very much.”
Another agreed: “Princess Beatrice looks very much like Queen Victoria – same eyes and pout.”
“Your sister Beatrice looks very similar to Her Majesty Queen Victoria especially when Bea does side view,” one person wrote.
Other royal fans couldn’t believe Fergie had worked on the famous The Young Victoria period drama, with one writing: “I had no idea your wonderful mother produced this film. It’s one of my very favourites, she’s very gifted!”
Princess Beatrice herself also starred in the feature film, playing one of Queen Victoria’s ladies in waiting.
