Looking stunning in a gorgeous blue gown, Eugenie did her mum proud as she posed on the palace’s imposing staircase with her smiling spouse.

The Duchess of York was also a picture of glamour as she celebrated the work of Street Child, which promotes education for underprivileged children, in 10 countries including such trouble spots as Sierra Leone to Afghanistan.

‘There are 121 million children who don’t go to school,’ the Duchess reveals.

‘They not only don’t go to school but they don’t have the opportunity to go to school … and that statistic has to change.’

The Duchess’ daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, are both ambassadors for the charity, and their mother couldn’t be prouder – saying that the work has also been a boon for herself.

‘Kept me realising how lucky that my children – Eugenie, as you now know, is disabled with 12in metal rods down her back, Beatrice is dyslexic with special needs at school – and yet they had an education, so why isn’t any other child allowed that same luxury?’

street-child.co.uk – 121 million school-aged children are currently out of education world-wide.  Street Child works to provide education for children living in some of the world’s toughest places.
