She’s widely regarded as the hardest working member of the British royal family, but it looks like Princess Anne is also the thriftiest!
WATCH Princess Anne arrive in style at Buckingham Palace with her niece Princess Beatrice:
The Princess Royal joined her brothers Prince Andrew and Prince Edward to support their reigning mother Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at a garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland on Wednesday.
The Queen’s only daughter looked elegant in a teal dress and duck egg blue coat with matching asymmetric hat, accessorising with white opera gloves and a pair of beige courts with ballet bows sewn over the toe.
But something about the look was giving us a serious case of sartorial deja vu – because Princess Anne wore this exact outfit to Royal Ascot on June 20.
The Princess even carried the same cream envelope bag and wore her favourite stack of pearls round her neck, although she appeared to change things up slightly by pinning a different brooch to her lapels for the Queen’s garden party.
It’s not the first time the 68-year-old Princess has recycled her designer clothing.
For the first day of Royal Ascot last month, the mother of Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall proved her practical side by choosing an understated hat and coat combination which she first wore in 2007 for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s Diamond Wedding Anniversary celebration at Westminster Abbey in London, Town and Country Magazine reports.
In May, the equestrian loving royal arrived at the royal wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor in perhaps her favourite ensemble of all time, a quirky yellow and navy number.
Princess Anne has worn the look at least three times, to Easter service at Windsor Castle in 2007, at Royal Ascot racecourse in 2009, and for the graduation of junior soldiers at the Army Foundation College in 2010.
Incredibly, the Princess has held onto some pieces for over two decades.
Last year, Anne stepped out in an elegant monochrome coat she first wore back in 1985!
One young royal who seems to have taken her cues from Anne’s frugality is Prince William‘s wife, Kate Middleton.
The Duchess of Cambridge is known for recycling her wardrobe, particularly pieces from her favourite designer Alexander McQueen.
The mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis also has a penchant for bargain buys.
In the last two weeks, the Duchess has been photographed wearing the same pair of $166 AUD Castaner espadrilles to three different royal engagements.
While Princess Anne, the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex are busy in Scotland supporting the Queen, Prince Charles is celebrating an important milestone of his own a little further south.
Charles, along with wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is touring Wales in honour of the 50th anniversary of his investiture as Prince of Wales, and as reported by Daily Mail, the heir to the British throne is enjoying every moment.
Meanwhile, closer to Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry‘s wife Meghan Markle made her third public appearance since welcoming baby Archie Harrison to watch her close friend Serena Williams play at Wimbledon.
