Oh dear!
Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex looked mighty downcast while celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary at Royal Ascot on Wednesday, June 19.
The couple, who were married in George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in 1999 and who share two children together – Lady Louise Windsor and James Viscount Severn – did not crack a smile as they battled the rain for day two of Royal Ascot.

The pair – who have remained one of the few royal couples to not be plagued by controversy – seemed to have had a lovers tiff on their special day, as Prince Edward had an enduringly indignant look on his face as he stood a step away from a sour Sophie, who’s lips remained pursed throughout the duration of the event.
While the couple didn’t look like they were having the most pleasant of anniversary’s, considering that Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex stand as a paragon of royal marital success in the midst of a sea of failed Windsor unions, we are sure that their 20th wedding anniversary ended better than it started!
