Meghan Markle allegedly asked British TV star Lizzie Cundy to find a “famous British man” for her to date, three years before she met Prince Harry.
According to Ms Cundy, she struck up a friendship with the Suits actress when they were seated together at a charity dinner in 2013.
Speaking to The Sun, Lizzie, 50, said Meghan asked:”Do you know any famous guys? I’m single and I really love English men”, to which she replied: “We’ll go out and find you some.”
The Duchess of Sussex, as she is now known, had divorced her first husband Trevor Engleson three months before her trip to London.
In her new book, Tales From the Red Carpet, Lizzie claims she showed Meghan a photo of love rat footballer Ashley Cole as a potential match, but the California girl ruled him out because of his “bad reputation” per Daily Mail.
Lizzie also called the Duchess “great fun” and claimed she “like a drink”, adding the pair stayed in touch until news of her romance with Prince Harry hit the headlines.
But despite her initial response, Lizzie claimed the future royal “ghosted” her and never contacted her again.
The TV personality admitted she thinks Meghan had been advised to “end contact” with her friends in the media because of her burgeoning relationship with the Queen‘s grandson.
Fats forward to present day and it’s hard to believe the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison, and already celebrated their one year wedding anniversary.
