Edoardo popped the question during their Italy trip, however, this isn’t his first proposal.

Prior to dating the daughter of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, he was engaged to the mother of his two-year-old son.

According to the Daily Mail, the property tycoon split with Chinese American architect Dara Huang less than a year before he began dating Princess Beatrice.

The publication reported that Dara’s mother Lily, 69, claimed that Dara ended up on a friend’s sofa – and she only found out they split when he made a public appearance with the Queen’s granddaughter just six months after they split.

“I think Dara was hiding it from me,” she claimed.

“She didn’t want me to be sad. I am shocked.”

Prior to their split, Dara and Edo (who is the son of Olympic skier Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nikki Shale) lived together in London.

The 37-year-old was forced to leave after the split and reportedly stayed with a friend while looking for a new place.

They currently share custody of their son Christopher (named after Edo’s step-father, Christopher Shale who was a close friend of David Cameron).
