The airfryer Apple Strudel recipe that we are obsessed with

Ingredients

TIP: For a lunchbox snack or morning tea treat, mix 1/2 cup icing sugar mixture with 3 tsp lemon juice. Drizzle over cold pies and allow to set. Store in an airtight container for up to a few days.

Method

Step 1

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Spread apple slices on absorbent kitchen paper and pat dry. Add apple to bowl. Stir to combine.

Step 2

Cut each pastry sheet in half, then cut each crossway into 3 pieces. Divide the apple mixture among six of the pastry rectangles, leaving a 1.5cm border. Brush edges lightly with water.

Step 3

Cut four, 4cm long slits across the centre of the remaining pastry rectangles. Arrange each over the top of the apple. Press edges to seal. Trim edges. Brush with egg.

Step 4

4 Pull out pan and basket from a 7-litre air fryer. Spray the basket with olive oil. Place three strudels in the basket. Slide the pan and basket back into the air fryer. Set the temperature to 190C. Set a timer and cook for 6 minutes until golden and puffed. Turn over. Set a timer and cook for 3 minutes until golden. Remove. Repeat with remaining strudels.

Step 5

Serve with ice cream and maple syrup.
