Prince Harry and Meghan Markle famously broke the internet with the release of their tell-all Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
And now, the streaming service has revealed what projects the couple will be producing next.

On April 11th, 2024, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Productions confirmed that two new nonfiction television series were in the “early stages” of production at Netflix.
The first will “celebrate the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship” and will be curated by Meghan herself, who is also serving as an executive producer.

The second series will “provide viewers unprecedented access to the world of professional polo,” a sport that Prince Harry has long loved.
“Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level,” a statement announcing the project read.
Titles and release dates for both projects have not yet been confirmed.
The news comes two months after Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria, confirmed that the royals had several projects in the works, including a movie.
“They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon Reigg, [Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary Series at Netflix],” she shared in a statement at the time.
“And they actually have like a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a [scripted] series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show, and a couple of unscripted shows,” she shared, adding that the movie was “great.”
The positive news comes nine months after their Spotify deal was cancelled, and reports surfaced in The Sun that Netflix had given the duo an ultimatum of producing other pieces of well-performing content.
After Harry & Meghan was released, the pair were allegedly paid half of the $150m Netflix offered them to create content for the service.
The UK publisher quoted an ‘industry source’ who revealed, “The remainder of the deal relies on them producing those good ideas. The deal’s continually under review which is normal for ones of this magnitude.”
In consideration of this, after the release of Emmy nominations for 2023, Harry & Meghan’s documentary was notably snubbed from the awards night.
While reaching a considerable number of views, the docu-series was criticised for using inaccurate footage and photographs.
Directed by Liz Garbus, the six-part series failed to secure any nominations for its eligible categories: Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.
In terms of the couple’s future projects, Page Six has reported that Prince Harry is returning to Africa for a Netflix documentary.
Reportedly, he will embark on a solo journey following the footsteps of his mother, Princess Diana, who visited the country on humanitarian missions.
“Obviously, Harry has a lot of roots in Africa and he feels at home there,” a source told the outlet.

The Wall Street Journal has also detailed several of the couple’s thus-rejected ideas which reportedly include an animated series about women in history and a gender-flipped Emily In Paris-style series about LGBTQ+ characters.
They did report (alongside Harry’s reported documentary) that the couple is working on a Great Expectations prequel called Bad Manners about Miss Haversham’s experience in a patriarchal society.
In essence, it appears as if this deal isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. In accordance with industry procedure, the production companies’ collaboration will be continuously reviewed to assess performance.
“The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value,” a Netflix spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight in mid-2023.
“Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix’s most spectacular documentary debut to date. Our exciting journey with them isn’t ending anytime soon.”
When originally signing on, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos addressed the royal’s new partnership, saying: “We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”
Archewell Productions have released Harry & Meghan, Heart of Invictus, and Live to Lead on Netflix thus far.
