It’s time to cue the nostalgia because Nokia has unveiled its latest phone release – a $449 smartphone reminiscent of the early 2000s flip phones that were (and still are) equal parts iconic AND economic.

What’s more, if you need to swap out any parts to your phone, you’ll be able to purchase them at an affordable rate with ease.

Chief Marketing Officer of HMD Global (the home of Nokia phones) Lars Silberbauer said that the colour choices of ‘Digital Lavender’ and ‘Pink Differently’ were very deliberate.

“It’s safe to say Purple is having a moment this year. Not only does the Nokia G42 5G look great, it’s also a continuation of our repairability journey which is now a fundamental part of the way we design smartphones.”

“The new So Pink Nokia G42 5G ticks all the boxes. It does good and looks good. Why should repairable be dull?” he added.

Brenden Folitarik, HMD Global’s Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands shared this excitement: “We are excited to bring the repairable Nokia G42 5G to the Australian market,” he said in the official press release for the product.

“In our So Pink colourway, we have proven that you can be fashionable and 5G connected without the heavy price tag of either an expensive smartphone or repair,” he continued.
