The British three-year-old vanished without a trace from an apartment complex in Portugal’s Praia da Luz resort while on holiday with her parents and younger siblings May 2007.
The Daily Telegraph UK called the case the “most heavily reported missing-persons case in modern history”.
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann claims “Maddie” is still alive and focuses on the theory that human traffickers snatched the blonde haired, blue eyed tot and brought her overseas for sale.
The documentary, which is split into eight parts, features 40 experts including investigators and senior officials including the UK’s leading child protection Jim Gamble.
Gamble believes the mystery will be solved within his lifetime and is seen telling the camera: “We will find out what happened to Madeleine McCann.
“There’s huge hope to be had with the advances in technology…and as we use that to revisit and review what we captured in the past, there’s every likelihood that something we already know will slip into position.”
Madeleine would now be 15-years-old.
The documentary is set to be available to all Netflix subscribers worldwide.
Executive producer Emma Cooper told the Herald Sun she hopes the project will raise awareness about Maddie’s disappearance to a new generation.
“We’re trying to lay out as much detail as we can about the case — and if it could jog someone’s memory in some way then that would be amazing,” she said.
