The details of Johnny Depp‘s $72.7 million dollar lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard are coming to light, and his claims are shocking.
The lawsuit is in retaliation to an opinion piece Amber wrote for the Washington Post in 2018.
In the piece, the 33-year-old wrote about what it’s like to be a victim of domestic violence.
And while she didn’t refer to Johnny by name, the exes signed a non-disclosure agreement as part of their divorce settlement, agreeing that neither party would publicly discuss their relationship.
“I have denied Ms. Heard’s allegations vehemently since she first made them in May 2016 when she walked into court to obtain a temporary restraining order with painted-on bruises that witnesses and surveillance footage show she did not possess each day of the preceding week. I will continue to deny them for the rest of my life.” The actor, 55, said in court documents released by PEOPLE.
“I never abused Ms. Heard or any other woman,” he added.
The father-of-two also alleged in the documents that he was the victim of abuse, not Amber.

“She was the perpetrator, and I was the victim. While mixing prescription amphetamines and non-prescription drugs with alcohol, Ms. Heard committed innumerable acts of domestic violence against me, often in the presence of a third-party witness, which in some instances caused me serious bodily harm.”
Johnny alleged that one incident following their 2015 wedding almost left him an amputee.
“She went berserk and began throwing bottles at me,” he claimed, after asking her to sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
“The first bottle sailed past my head and missed, but then she threw a large glass vodka bottle.”
He alleged the bottle shattered against his finger.
“I had to have 3 surgeries to reconstruct my finger and contracted MRSA three time. I feared that I would lose my finger, my arm and my life.”
In response, Amber’s lawyer’s said in a statement, “The evidence in this case is clear: Johnny Depp repeatedly beat Amber Heard.”
