The countdown is over – our favourite on-again-off-again couple Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer) and Colby (Tim Franklin) are getting married at last.
After a tumultuous road to the altar, the hugely popular couple walk down the aisle this week in a picture-perfect ceremony. Nothing, it seems, could go wrong as they prepare for a lifetime of joy.
If only!
For, unbeknown to Chelsea and Colby, their happy-ever-after may be tragically short-lived. Danger is lurking. And several lives may be hanging in the balance when Chelsea, Willow and Bella are all kidnapped!
As Tim says: “This is Home and Away, so what happens is completely unexpected.”
Early in the week, Chelsea and Colby return from a short trip away with Colby’s younger sister Bella (Courtney Miller).
Happier than ever, Chelsea and Colby have decided to move to the city with Bella for a fresh start after their wedding, due to take place in a couple of weeks’ time.
“Chelsea and Colby have been through so much heartbreak, but now things do seem to be coming together for them,” says Ashleigh.
“They both so badly want their relationship to work out, so they can’t wait to get married – and Chelsea has become quite wrapped up in the excitement of it all.”
However, when Chelsea learns she has been offered a coveted spot in a soon-to-begin detective course in the city, the wedding plans are thrown into disarray again. She and Colby make a spur-of-the-moment decision. They’ll get married in just two days’ time! With the help of their friends Dean (Patrick O’Connor) and Willow (Sarah Roberts), they pull off the seemingly impossible and find a last-minute venue.
Indeed, Chelsea and Colby’s wedding is a fairytale affair. With family and friends watching, a radiant Chelsea beams as she exchanges vows with her soulmate. “The ceremony suits both Chelsea and Colby so well,” says Ashleigh. “Chelsea’s dress is perfect for her and I loved it too – it’s really simple. Chelsea and Colby are understated and not showy with their love. All that they want is to be together and they’re just blissfully happy. It’s a huge love-fest.”
Adds Tim: “It’s just a really beautiful wedding.
“Colby is the happiest he’s ever been,” he continues. “This is his chance at a normal life – a life he never even dreamt could come close to happening. He now has his sister back in his life and he also has the love of his life by his side. He feels like the luckiest man in the world.”
However, Chelsea and Colby have no idea that a dark figure is lurking in the shadows, watching their every step. It’s Colby’s evil stepfather Ross (Justin Rosniak) – a man who has already committed murder.
And he’s just waiting to make his move. What will Ross do?
