Fans of Young Talent Time are sure to have been surprised in tonight’s episode of The Voice when a now very grown up Joey Dee, 42, took to the stage.
“You may remember me as the nine-year-old Joey Dee from young talent time,” he revealed.
“I still get people coming up to me today saying I used to love that show.”
But, after years out of the spotlight, Joey has made his showbiz comeback performing Bob Marley’s Redemption Song in the Blind Auditions.
“I’ve been out of the limelight for years and I really want to take the career to the next level,” he says.
“The time is now. I either do it or I don’t!”
Of course, he admits that it was a lot less daunting preforming as a kid.
“Doing this whole experience is putting yourself out there,” Joey says.
“As a nine-year-old you put yourself on stage without thinking. As you get older everyone doubts themselves, doing this process is about overcoming that.”
And he certainly did, giving a killer performance that both Kelly Rowland and Boy George turned their chair for.
Joey chose Team Kelly and we can’t wait to see what he does next!
