Celebrities and models are some of the most beautiful people in the world, and it’s no surprise we want to emulate their look. But without personal trainers, private chefs, and a dedicated team of stylists whose only job is to make you look good…is it even possible?
We took a crack at decoding the beauty and fitness secrets of someone you could arguably call one of the most attractive women in the world: model, actress, and Instagram influencer, Emily Ratajkowski.
Who Is Emily Ratajkowski?
On the runway and on the silver screen, Emily Ratajkowski is quite literally the embodiment of a bikini body. But before she became THE Emily Ratajkowski, she was a regular London-born, California-raised kid. That is, up until she signed with Ford models at the young age of 14.
In her first few years in showbiz, she was cast in the odd “popular girl” role here and there. But her biggest breakthrough would come in the form of an erotic magazine called treats! Ratajkowski appeared on the March 2012 cover, completely nude.
It was that cover that landed her a huge opportunity. In 2013, Ratajkowski first intrigued the nation when she appeared topless in Robin Thicke’s controversial music video for song ‘Blurred Lines’.
Her envious curves, flat stomach, and sheer boldness caught America’s—and the world’s—attention. Within a year of the music video release, she appeared in the pages of Sports Illustrated and the runways of Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace.
In that same year, she took home the coveted Esquire Woman of the Year, beating out Hollywood darling Jennifer Lawrence. She was also ranked in both FHM’s and Maxim’s lists for hottest woman in the world.
Besides her early music video work, you probably know her best in her supporting role in the hit thriller Gone Girl where she played the young and manipulative mistress to Ben Affleck’s cheating husband. You may also recognise her, infamously, in the promotions for the failed Fyre Festival in 2017.
The Emily Ratajkowski Diet
There’s no denying that Emily Ratajkowski has one of the best bodies in the world. What’s her secret?
Are you imagining a restrictive diet, a daily gym routine, carefully calculated macros, or a challenging exercise plan? After all, isn’t that how they all look that great?
Well, you’d be wrong.
Ratajkowski has quite a unique diet philosophy, or at least it’s unique in the showbiz industry. She believes in taking care of herself, making sure not to go too overboard, but also not shying away from the occasional indulgence.
After a look at her regular daily diet, we’d say it’s a winning combination of great genes and a little discipline.
Breakfast
On most mornings, Ratajkowski heads on over to her favourite shop, Blacktop Coffee, where she orders her daily black coffee and a kouign-amann, a European pastry that’s similar to a croissant, but with way more carbs and butter. This diet’s already off to a great start.
Emily alternates with granola, yogurt, or toast on other days.
Lunch
Ratajkowski’s midday meal isn’t much to write home about. She usually has a sandwich or a salad—but with protein, please. Ratajkowski admitted that she’s a big carnivore and will pack on the protein for a balance of energy and health. She pairs her meal with some veggie juice and fruit shakes, especially her faves: turmeric and beets.
Sometimes, she’s on set, where there’s tons of delicious catering. She acknowledged that it’s tempting to go overboard, but she tries to reel herself in.
Dinner
Would you believe me if I said that Emily Ratajkowski loves Indian and Thai food? She joked to Jimmy Kimmel that she’s obsessed with Postmates. She also loves the food over at Italian restaurant Bestia, the healthy fare at Cafe Gratitude, and the sushi at Little Tokyo’s Mako.
When she’s not eating out or taking home, Ratajkowski is busy cooking—a great way for her to eat what she wants while also controlling her salt and sugar intake.
Snacks
Midnight snacks and desserts are Ratajkowski’s biggest weakness. This is where she indulges the most. She’ll satisfy her cravings, whether it’s Doritos or a cupcake. Emily said that she thinks it’s important to treat yourself once in a while so that you’re not feeling so hard on yourself.
Exercise
Surprisingly, Ratajkowski doesn’t even have a personal trainer. She instead opts for a more laid-back, low-intensity workout. She doesn’t like the gym or doing weights very much, but she keeps up an active lifestyle by hiking or going to yoga once a week.
How To Achieve Emily’s Banging Body
Emily’s diet and exercise plan is actually quite simple to follow. Unfortunately, they’re too simple to be the only thing at work. We’re chalking this one up to great genetics, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn from her gym exercise plan and diet. We’re still confident that you can get healthier, shed off a few pounds, and maybe feel better about your body—just follow some of Emily’s tips:
- It’s not about deprivation, is about making better and more deliberate choices about what you put in your body.
- Balance between energy and health. Eat your greens with a generous helping of protein.
- Give yourself a break once in a while—indulge in a craving!
- If you’re not a gym rat, don’t sweat it. Get active in more hands-on ways like going out for more walks or skipping the elevator for the stairs.
You don’t need a personal trainer to be fit and toned. And it’s not about how many times you exercise. The most important thing is consistency. Find a workout routine that works for you.
