We know Donald Glover for his multiple acting roles, his Childish Gambino singing persona but little is known about his partner Michelle White.
Here are five interesting facts about Michelle.
She is the mother of his two children
Up until the day Michelle was photographed pregnant with Donald’s first son Legend outside a Hawaii grocery store in 2016, no one knew Donald was a soon-to-be father or even had a partner. In 2018, Michelle gave birth to the second son yet to be named.
She gets a lot of mentions
At the 2017 Emmy Awards Donald thanked Michelle and their son and announced the impending arrival of their second son. “I want to thank Michelle, my partner, you love me even with how crazy I get,” he said. “I want to thank my baby, my son, for just being the joy in my life. I want to thank my unborn son, we’re listening to Stevie [Wonder] tonight.”
She does all the hard stuff
No one knows what Michelle’s profession is, but according to Donald she does all the hard stuff. “I think my partner, she does all the hard stuff, to be honest,” he told PEOPLE. “She’s just very supportive. I haven’t really had to change anything. But it’s given me definitely another perception on what life is. It gives me a lot of context.”
There has been controversy over her race
Michelle is of white-Asian ethnicity while Donald is African American. When it was discovered she was not black, some critics took offence. “I’m just waiting for people to address the real issue yall say yall love black women make songs about being woke and cater to the black community and still have time to date outside your race thats the problem appease to them cater to their culture yall love them so much (sic)” wrote one user on Twitter.
She’s not married to Donald
Donald refers to Michelle as his partner and no one has been able to verify their legal relationship status. But seeing as he kept his relationship under wraps for so long, they may have secretly got married without the public knowing!
