With its sensational dance scenes, killer soundtrack and tale of forbidden love, Dirty Dancing is one of the best-loved movies of all time. Now, Channel Seven has announced they will be giving eight celebrities the opportunity to revisit one of the most iconic films of the ’80s in their new series, The Real Dirty Dancing.

Channel 7 has announced that a star-studded line-up featuring some of Australia’s biggest names in TV, sport and journalism, will travel to the United States to the location where “Kellerman’s Resort” was filmed in Virginia, and will undergo an immersive Dirty Dancing experience.
The celebs set to take us back to our fav guilty pleasure movie are; actor Hugh Sheridan, comedian Anne Edmonds, actor Firass Dirani, season one Bachelor winner Anna Heinrich, presenter Jamie Durie, journalist and author Jessica Rowe, former AFL star Jude Bolton, and Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice.
According to Channel 7, our new Aussie cast of Dirty Dancing will learn the iconic dance routines from the film in order to be chosen to perform as Baby and Johnny in a one-off theatre performance back in Australia, where they will recreate the iconic final dance to ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of my Life’, including that breathtaking lift.
