MAFS’ Cyrell Paule shows off her baby’s ultrasound with Eden Dally
How did you both find out?
CYRELL: I’ll be honest, it was not planned. I was freaked out thinking about Eden’s reaction. Then my friend settled me down and I thought, “What did I want?” We went to the shops and I bought three pregnancy tests. I screamed and cried! Then I went and bought a fourth one. It sunk in eventually. I’ve got nothing against it, but for me I don’t have the strength to have an abortion. So I knew, then, I’m having a baby!
EDEN: I was on my phone and I got this text. She said, “Eden, I’m pregnant, and I’m like, “What?” I didn’t know what to feel. I was a bit in shock and took a while to process it. Then we spoke and I said, “Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you and be there for the child.” It wasn’t expected. But it’s happening, I’m excited and I can’t wait to have this little baby.
What were your families’ reactions to the news?
CYRELL: My brother Ivan was shocked. But out of all my boyfriends, weirdly enough, he really likes Eden! They get along. So, they just ended up shaking hands. When I did tell Ivan, he said: “You’re a grown woman and Eden is a good guy.”
EDEN: Everyone was just in shock. My old man always says your first child is a really special feeling. My mum was excited too. At first it was a shock but now everyone is on board.
How will you be as parents?
CYRELL: I’ve seen Eden with his niece; it’s the cutest thing. I’m praying for a girl so we can have that – Dad’s little girl! I think he’ll be an amazing dad, just what I’ve seen of him as an uncle, I can’t even comprehend what he’ll be as a father. And I think I’ll be crazy! Eden will be the stricter parent, though!
EDEN: I’ll probably be protective of a daughter, yes. I think Cyrell will be a very strong mother, always there for her child. I’ll be a great dad, I can’t wait. I want a healthy baby, but I do want to be the first one to have a boy in the family! I do have a gut feeling it’ll be a boy.
Do you worry people will say you’re doing this for publicity?
CYRELL: I wouldn’t be surprised if my child is going to get called a publicity stunt. That’s sad, because the baby has nothing to do with it. It gets exhausting trying to defend it.
EDEN: I guarantee people will say the baby is a publicity stunt. They’ll say we got pregnant to stay relevant or to extend our 15 minutes of fame. It’s very stressful and stress can cause bad things to happen.
Did the cafe fight and feuds affect the pregnancy?
EDEN: I was annoyed with the drama going on. I had to take her phone away from her, she does get emotional. These things, the physical and emotional stuff, it could kill our baby. It gave her migraines, headaches. I’ve known she’s been pregnant for a long time and when you get these people attacking us, it’s very stressful. It could be harmful for the baby.
CYRELL: I’m more worried that any hatred of me will be directed to my child. But I believe that our baby is going to get strength from their mum and dad.
