Aussie breakfast TV is set for a major shake up, with one of the most popular and beloved faces confirming today that’s she’s signing off for good.

Virginia Trioli, who has helped steer the ABC’s News Breakfast to be a major ratings success for the national broadcaster, is leaving morning TV for a new gig at ABC Melbourne’s Mornings show, where she will be replacing Jon Faine, who has held the seat for 22 years.
Virginia, who leaves behind popular co-host Michael Rowland, describes the move as a ‘once-in-a-career opportunity.
‘Melbourne — we’re going to make great radio together!,’ the star said.
The ABC has yet to confirm a co-host for Rowland – who has expressed his admiration of Trioli as she departs for a future in radio.
‘It has been an absolute pleasure, Virginia, spending the last nine years together on News Breakfast,’ he said. ‘It has been quite a ride.”
ABC News Breakfast has recently been beating Nine’s TODAY in the ratings, make it an increasingly buzzed-about how for the national broadcaster.
