Away from The Block, Wombat – Clint Price – is a dad to seven-year-old Jake.
Jake’s mum (who Wombat has requested to remain unnamed) and Wombat were married, but have been separated for four years.
‘I still get along really well with my son’s mum. I even rang her throughout the show for advice,’ says the 37-year- old. ‘It was a totally amicable split – it was just time to go our separate ways.’
And while Wombat may now reside in a shipping container, before separating from his ex, he lived in and owned a house.
The former couple share custody of Jake, as well as home-schooling duties.
‘I have my son Friday, Saturday, Sunday,’ Wombat says. ‘I home-school Jake with his mum. We’ve done it for two years now and we’re still enjoying it. He might go to [a regular] school, it depends.’
Being away from young Jake, Wombat made sure his home-schooling would continue.
‘I’ve got a tutor who does my side of things. That’s a big thing for me while I was on The Block.’
