Feeling the pressure of their surroundings, Josh and Elyse are fed up.
The young couple’s rivals Ronnie and Georgia have put targets on their backs, and the competition is as fierce as ever.
To add to their troubles, the genetically blessed couple have been hounded by paparazzi due to Elyse’s prior media profile as an Instagram model.
‘The paparazzi have been challenging, to be honest,’ the bikini model admits. ‘It’s so hard when they won’t let you leave – they won’t even let you go to the shops. It’s really frustrating. Especially when they get photos and they write smack about it.
‘That’s their job, I get it, just don’t stop me from doing mine.’
With 641,000 Instagram followers and counting, Elyse, 24, is now the subject of cruel articles.
‘I don’t have time to read the articles,’ she explains. ‘I don’t have time to read when I’ve got this going on.’
From the first week, Ronnie and Georgia and Josh and Elyse have faced off. Josh knows exactly why the experienced renovators have it out for them.
‘Obviously from the start there was this rivalry between house three [Ronnie and Georgia] and five [Josh and Elyse],’ the 28-year-old acknowledges. ‘They’re threatened by us.’
While Elyse prefers to stay out of confrontational situations, her partner of four years isn’t holding back.
‘It’s all about being fair. We think we’ve been pretty fair the whole series,’ Josh says. ‘There are morals you should work by, and they [Ronnie and Georgia] obviously wanted to do other things.
And as Elyse adds, she’s trusting the camera will pick up everyone’s true character.
‘Ronnie and Georgia said they weren’t here to make friends and they’re here to win. They lied a few times to people to their face. They’re untrustworthy,’ Elyse confirms.
‘The camera will pick it up pretty quickly, and the first episode shows exactly who everyone is.’
