The Block’s a great test of a relationship, that’s for sure,” says Georgia with a laugh, revealing that the show brought them even closer together.

To the outgoing Perth parents – one of the most talked-about couples in the show’s history – life changed forever when they competed on the 2017 series of the program.

“Without a doubt,” Georgia confirms. “We often say it was the hardest thing we’ve ever done, but in the same breath we say it was the best thing. We absolutely had a ball.

“You walk away and think, ‘Gosh, we’ve achieved something sensational here, and who would have thought we could have done that?’”

And now Ronnie, 42, and Georgia, 35, are juggling their thriving renovation business Ronovation HQ with an exciting new Nine online series while raising their family – Ronnie’s 17-year-old son Giordano from a previous relationship and heir young children Leo, 6, and Charlotte, 4.

Georgia was just 21 when her path serendipitously crossed with Ronnie’s.

“I met Ronnie one lunchtime at a little Japanese takeaway hop and then that night we went out to a wine bar in a totally different suburb – and he was there,” she recalls. “I went up to him and said: ‘Hey, saw you today!’

“Ronnie was very persistent about getting my number, and I was a bit more hesitant about giving it. It took about four weeks of pursuing and finally I caved. We went on a date and we hung out every night thereafter.”

Says Ronnie: “It was the banter that first attracted me to Georgia, which I’d never really had before with any other girl.”

Indeed, in no time, Ronnie knew Georgia was The One. As he says with a laugh: “I knew it was serious within the first two weeks, when I bought Georgia a toothbrush!”

Georgia, on the other hand, was a little more cautious.

“Because Ronnie had a son from a previous relationship, I didn’t take that lightly,” she says. “I always knew that if I was going to pursue this, it was going to be a long-term thing.”

Engaged in 2010, the happy couple then tied the knot on Feb. 19, 2011.

“We had the wedding at a gorgeous little Catholic church,” says Georgia. “We then had
the reception in my parents’ beautiful backyard with about 60 people – nice and close – and it was just a good time.”

Agrees Ronnie: “It was intimate and we had exactly everyone we wanted to be there. And Georgia looked amazing.”

Today, life is busier than ever for the pair, who are also starring in Quick Room Flips with Ronnie & Georgia on The Block 365 – Nine’s exciting upcoming digital destination.

“It’s kind of a mini-Block in the sense that we’re flipping rooms on crazy budgets with crazy time-frames – but we just thrive on it,” says Georgia.

“Our life is never dull, boring or quiet and that’s how we like it,” she adds.

Ronnie wholeheartedly agrees. “If we do things, we don’t do them by half-measure!” he says.
