It’s the iconic Australian soap that launched the careers of Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe and Kylie Minogue.
Being just as popular with Brits as it is Aussies, Neighbours has been on the air in the UK since the mid-1980s – and it’s finally getting its own spin-off, thanks to Britain’s Channel 5.
Titled “Neighbours: Erinsborough High,” the show will be a five-episode series that will stream on My5m (Channel 5’s on-demand service).

According to news.com.au, RTL-owned producer and distributor Fremantle media will produce and distribute the Neighbours spin-off.
Viewers will be taken behind the gates of Erinsborough High during exam period after one of the Year 12 students goes missing.
Neighbours: Erinsborough High will parallel Neighbours and feature both well-known characters and new faces.
Neighbours is the most recent addition to the platforms stock of Australian drama shows, following Sony’s Bloom and ABC Commercial’s Pulse.
After lengthy talks (that had at one point threatened to see Neighbours taken off British screens altogether), Fremantle and Channel 5 signed off on the show.
“Neighbours continues to be a popular show, which has brought enjoyment to audiences for many years, so it’s hugely exciting to bring its first-ever spin-off series to fans in the UK exclusively on My5,” said Oli Thomas, vice president digital lead at Channel 5.
