Former Home and Away star Luke Mitchell has landed a recurring role on The Originals spinoff Legacies – the same series his wife Rebecca Breeds is currently starring in.

Luke announced his new gig on Instagram earlier this month, sharing his excitement with fans by simply writing, “OMG…”, along with a snap of the news report.
The actor made his debut as Ken, “a malevolent god who has returned to take down Hope, the world’s only tribrid, and reclaim his title as the world’s most powerful being,” Deadline reported.
The announcement was well-received by Luke’s fans and friends, who took to the comments to share their congratulations.
“All hail le beard,” said Lincoln Younes, Luke’s former Home and Away co-star, followed by Georgie Parker who wrote, “Oh yes, finally you’re a God. Congratulations.”
Elated fans were quick to follow, with one writing, “WHATTTT??? You and Rebecca in Legacies?? YESSSSS.”
“I -Hope- you have a scene with Aurora,” another added, referring to Rebecca’s character on the show. “Acting along side Rebecca,” a third pointed out.
It seems as though the husband and wife will cross paths in the hit series, as when Luke spoke with TVLine, he said it was “super fun” to be working with Rebecca again.
“We may have a couple of scenes together, maybe I’ve said too much, but there are a few interactions between our characters,” he teased.
“She’s playing a 1,000-year-old vampire and I’m playing an all-powerful god — just slightly different from our real-life relationship. Just a touch.”
It comes after Rebecca landed a recurring role with the show late last year, after her character Aurora made her debut in The Originals.
As for Luke, the Aussie actor has gone on to star in a number of international roles since he and his wife departed the sandy shores of Summer Bay.
After starring as Romeo Smith on Home and Away from 2009 to 2013, Luke went on to appear in The CW’s The Tomorrow People and The Republic of Sarah.
His other TV credits include NBC’s Blindspot and ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.
