But last week, the 59-year-old took to social media post to shut down the rumours once and for all, confirming that she was very happy in her role.

“I am back at the job, the network and with the Sunday @theprojecttv team that I love,” Lisa captioned, a photo of herself in a bright orange dress.

Since joining the Network Ten panel, Lisa has found great success – taking on big interviews such as her sit down with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden – and increased popularity with the show’s viewers.

Industry insider Rob McKnight, who runs website TV Blackbox, said: “Lisa is now one of the biggest stars on that network and there’s no doubt Lisa is happier with her new life over at 10.  She might not have the ratings, but she has the respect and she is getting some big-name interviews.”

With co-host Carrie Bickmore openly discussing the struggles she’s faced with juggling motherhood with work, the network would no doubt be relying on Lisa more than ever to keep up her hosting role in case the new mum needed some much-deserved time off.

An industry insider claims: “Before Lisa went on holidays to Italy, she gave them an ultimatum about The Project and her network contract.”

“She wants $2million to sign on again for two more years.”

According to Rob, Lisa made the move from Nine to Ten for “better hours, a better quality of life and more respect” and the network would now be eager to do everything they can to keep Lisa – and her fan based – which could mean giving the TV host what she wants.

The source added: “Ten have to be careful or they will lose both leading ladies.”
