His elegant and extravagant dessert dishes have been called a work of art, but Reynold Poer failed to nail his flavours on Tuesday night’s episode of MasterChef: Back To Win.

When the contestants divided into two teams for a restaurant challenge, the Blue Team thought they’d nail the dessert element, because they had dessert king, Reynold leading the third course charge.
But alas, his flavoursome creation – which resembled a beautiful bee – didn’t taste as good as it looked, according to the new judges.
After taking a bite, Josh said: ‘I’m not a fan of that.’
Then Melissa admitted: ‘At first, I got that hit of yuzuand it’s really refreshingand that beautiful floral citrusthing that we love about yuzu. But there are lots of big thingscompeting in this plateand the more it settles, the more I’m not sure about it.’
As for former MasterChef winner, Andy, he loved the look but just like Jock, thinks Reynold missed the mark. ‘I have to agree with Jock.I enjoyed it a lot morewhen I bypass the thymeand I found myself reallyfinding parts that I did likebut then if I eat itas an overall dish,I’m not that much of a fan.I get that potpourri sensationthat you’re talking aboutand it just takes overyour whole palate,’ he said.

‘It’s really interesting becauseReynold has been like the guyat the back, just motoring. You saw him over there withhis goggles on, two mixers at a time, like, puttingthat liquid nitrogen in. It was a sure thing.’
