Since they first gave into their feelings several months back, Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Dean’s (Patrick O’Connor) romance has gone from strength to strength, overcoming a few inevitable hiccups along the relationship way.

But everything is set to change! In a shock development, Dean breaks up with Ziggy, leaving the young mechanic reeling.
As the emotion-charged week gets underway, Ziggy is under the impression that she did not land the job at the racetrack – a gig that would take her away from Dean.
And we see that Ziggy’s feelings are mixed. For while she is deeply disappointed at missing out on what was surely a life-changing opportunity, her heart is with the guy she loves in the Bay.
“Ziggy realises when she didn’t get the job that she really wanted it,” says Sophie.
“But at the same time, I think when you have a partner you might lose because of a job, there is also that sense of relief as you don’t have to say goodbye to them.”
However, everything changes when Ziggy receives a call from Kurt at the track – and the job ishers after all!
Without hesitation, a thrilled Ziggy accepts. But it doesn’t take long for reality to hit. How is she going to tell her boyfriend her big news?
“This is such a scary thing for Ziggy,” says Sophie. “Her stomach drops because she knows telling Dean is going to be a really tough conversation.
“I think Ziggy also knows that Dean is going to struggle with a long-distance relationship. He has not had a relationship with a woman he can lean on for a very long time.
“All of the past women in his life have ended up leaving him, and Ziggy is worried that Dean will think she’s doing the same thing now.”
Unable to face the conversation she knows she must have, Ziggy puts off the inevitable.
“She’s only making things worse,” says Sophie. “The longer she waits, the harder it becomes.”
Meanwhile, unbeknown to Ziggy, Dean has spotted a message come up on her phone – he now knows she has not only been offered but has accepted the out-of-town job!
And he is furious that his girlfriend still hasn’t told him.
Could this be the final straw for Dean?
“Not only is Dean sad, but he’s now mad,” says Sophie.
And, when Ziggy finally gathers the courage to break the news to Dean, he doesn’t react well.
Is this be the end for the couple, or can they find a way to make their relationship work?
