Home and Away: Colby’s hell over Mackenzie

They’ve shared a steamy kiss, and no-one could deny that the chemistry between Colby (Tim Franklin) and gorgeous newcomer Mackenzie (Emily Weir) is red-hot.

But could Colby’s lingering feelings for his estranged wife Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer) derail his fledgling new romance with Dean’s (Patrick O’Connor) half-sister before the relationship even has a chance to get established?

In this week’s must-see episodes, we see that Colby is now struggling with the fact that he gave in to his attraction to Mackenzie. After all, he reminds himself, he is still married – and wearing a wedding ring.

“Colby is very confused,” says Tim. “He’s not sure whether a new relationship is something he should consider at this point, especially so soon after Chelsea left him. I think he has a feeling of being unworthy of this and also a fear of being hurt again.”

After serious contemplation, Colby decides to take off his ring.
“This is a pretty big thing for Colby,” says Tim. “He hadn’t moved on and hadn’t been ready to do so, but now he decides that he is.”

Soon after, the young police officer calls Mackenzie, suggesting they get together for a drink and a chat.

Meanwhile, Willow (Sarah Roberts) suspects that, despite his actions, Colby is still in love with Chelsea. What’s more, Willow can’t help but be concerned about the possible minefield that may await Colby if he does embark on a relationship with the sister of his best friend.

And let’s just say that Willow’s fears are justified. For this is a situation that is about to get a lot messier, with Colby and Mackenzie’s date going anything but according to plan!
