Gogglebox star Isabelle Silbery, 33, took to Instagram yesterday to reveal she had three cancer polyps in her bowel removed, while urging her followers to not “put off” going to a doctor if you’re feeling sick.
The reality TV star posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed eating a sandwich, along with a candid caption that spoke about the necessity for people to not put off going to a doctor if you’re feeling sick.
She began her lengthy post, “Everything is AOK👌 I’m not posting this for sympathy as I’m totally fine but more a little public safety announcement to anyone who has been putting off that ‘check up’…..the time is now.”
The 33-year-old continued, “8 months ago I was really sick in NY on a girls trip & put it down to gastro but in my gut (pardon pun) I knew something was up & chose not to ignore the symptoms,”
“Turns out, I needed to have two high-grade cancer polyps cut out of my bowel a few months ago…the doc said that if left any longer, it wouldn’t have been good.”
The single mother of one said the cancer diagnosis was “unexpected” while urging her followers to not ignore the symptoms and go get checked.
According to Bowel Cancer Australia, malignant polyps are growths in the wall of the bowel that can develop into a cancerous tumor if left undetected.
Get well soon Isabelle!
