Dawn French’s Shocking Drug Admission Nobody Expected

The funny woman just keeps getting funnier

Dawn French is known for her quick remarks, witty quips and charmingly British sense of humour, but her latest statements have caught so many people unawares, it’s a struggle to find the smiles.

Despite the ongoing problems around the world with illicit narcotics and the irrepressible drug trades, French, 59, admitted recently she intends fully on taking a lot of drugs when she gets older.

Since finding fame in the 80s, French shied away from the scene, opting for a clean life and good reputation, saying she wants to make-up for lost time.

Back then I did no drugs whatsoever, which I regret massively, and I am intending to do loads of drugs when I’m much older,” she told Richard Herring on his podcast.

“Some hot drugs coursing through your veins would add to the fun of being old,” she said.

“There are [magic mushrooms in Cornwall] but I’ve never looked for them…Magic mushrooms sound good, I’m up for that.”

French seems determined despite the fact she’s had her own bouts of health scares in the past, which might be fuelling the fire of her rebellion.

In 2009, the Vicar of Dibley was diagnosed with cancer, for which she underwent chemo- and radiotherapies. This lasted until she was convinced that she had uterine cancer, so made the decision to have a hysterectomy, successfully which resulted in a loss of 44.5 kilograms.

French jokingly added to her revelation that, “It’d be cheaper for a start. A feeble old body and a bit of crack cocaine go together really quite well.”

Of course, with her history as a comedienne, her appearance on the podcast is for comedic value, but with a history of best friend and colleague Jennifer Saunders who stole the world’s heart with Absolutely Fabulous who’d spoken publicly about drug consumption, you never know.
