The couple are said to be spending summer apart, due to career priorities. “Nicole and Keith are both so into their careers right now,” a source tells Star.

“No one faults them for wanting to be successful, but it leaves so little downtime to be together as a family and more importantly, as husband and wife. Work is their passion – but also the thing that’s going to drive them apart,” the insider continues.

And despite country singer Keith previously claiming he ‘doesn’t want to be more than two weeks apart from Nicole’, the country crooner recently added 13 dates to his Graffiti U Tour.

Ex Mrs Tom Cruise, Nicole, on the other hand has been busy shooting the second season of Big Little Lies and is currently filming The Undoing, plus she’s just signed up for two more shows The Expatriates and Nine Perfect Strangers.

“She’s barely had time to catch her breath, but that’s the way she likes it. Her friends worry that she’s burning the candle at both ends,” the source adds of the Hollywood star.

The couple had intended to spend summer together as a family, but according to the publication former Sydney girl Nicole ‘does not know how to say no to all these opportunities.’

And despite the rehab graduate singer’s schedule being jam packed, Keith is not happy that ‘they’ve had to cancel summer plans.’

“Everyone hope they can find a way to steal time away together this summer, because the way things stand now, it’s looking lonely for both of them,” the source adds of the Australian duo.

The couple, who have two daughters together, Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose, are yet to respond to these claims.
