Bindi Irwin, 20, has secretly wed her long-time love Chandler Powell at a star-studded dusk ceremony at Australia Zoo, according to a highly detailed report out of the US today.

The duo wed in a ‘safari-themed’ ceremony attended by A-list stars including Russell Crowe and Chris Hemsworth, according to top-selling American publication OK!.
The claims fly in the face of Bindi’s recent statement that she would never wed in secret, and have not yet been confirmed by the Irwins or anyone reported by the publication to have been at the event.
‘They exchanged vows in a secret ceremony at her family’s beloved Australia Zoo,’ a source was quoted as saying by OK! USA. ‘It was a beautiful celebration.’
The magazine says that the ceremony was attended by 200 of the couple’s closest family and friends, and even says that Bindi’s late father, ‘Crocodile Hunter’, Steve Irwin’s presence was ‘definitely strong’ during the vows.
‘Bindi’s so happy and feels incredibly lucky to have found someone like Chandler,’ continues the source. ‘Everyone is thrilled for the newlyweds.’
The magazine claims that among those present at the dusk ceremony were Crowe, Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky and Miley Cyrus.
‘They walked past all of Bindi’s favourite exotic animals, like crocodiles, snakes and adorable echidnas,’ the source is quoted as saying.
‘The dress was breathtaking. She also wore a long veil and carried a stunning bouquet of rustic local blooms.’
OK! claims that while Bindi had originally intended for her brother Robert to give her away, she ditched the idea thinking it might provoke a too-intense emotional outpouring on her big day. Instead she chose another to walk her to the side of her boyfriend Chandler Powell.
‘She got nervous in the days leading up to the wedding and feared they might get too emotional,’ claims OK!’s source. ‘So with Robert’s blessing she asked Chris, who’s one of her dearest family friends, to be her escort, and he was honoured to be the one to give Bindi away.’
According to the publication, Chandler referenced the late Steve by picking what the magazine says was one of Steve’s favourite songs.
‘He asked for silence as Bob Dylan’s Wedding Song played over the loudspeakers.
‘It was such an emotional moment. A lot of people started to cry.’
Bindi’s mum Terri Irwin was naturally emotional at the Queensland ceremony, claims the report.
‘She got choked up and praised Steve as an amazing husband and devoted father, and she hoped the newlyweds lived to be as happy as they’d been,’ says the source. ‘This is the happiest I’ve felt since we lost Steve.’
While the OK! report is highly detailed, it contradicts Bindi’s assertion just last week that she would never marry without telling anyone.
‘I keep saying to everyone, “I promise you, if and when we do get engaged and married, I will not keep it a secret”, she said. ‘I will be yelling from the rooftops going, “Oh, my goodness! This is so exciting!” I swear to everyone out there I will tell you if and when it happens.’
The Irwins have yet to respond, either formally or informally, to OK! USA’s florid claims.
