Love Island star issues apology after holding a plate of white powder

Cassidy McGill, Love Island star and influencer, has publicly apologised to her followers on social media after being photographed holding a plate with white powder.

After the photo was posted, Cassidy quickly deleted the photo from her Instagram stories, however, the image had already been widely shared online. 

In the image, Cassidy can be seen sitting on the floor with a plate balanced on her knee, clearly displaying two lines of white powder and a small bag.

She captioned the image “Ooops, see you tomorrow”, before swiftly deleting it from her social media account. 

Some of her followers questioned if her career as an influencer and collaborations with brands would be impacted by her post.

Cassidy addressed her followers and her brand deals in her apology which stated, “This past week I’ve been taking time to reflect on my actions.”

“I made a mistake, which I do not take lightly. This behaviour is out of character and I am truly sorry to have let you all down. I am sorry to my friends, family and my team and the brands I represent.

“I hope over time I can earn your trust and respect back. Thank you to those who have reached out. Love, Cass.”

The apology was posted onto her Instagram story with an image of a beach in the background. Cassidy has 394k followers on Instagram.
