How Did They Meet?
January 2004: It all started with your not-so-typical espionage movie. The filming for Mr & Mrs Smith was set to begin, and Brad and Angelina were cast to play the leading roles.

Why Was It Controversial?
January 2005: At this point, it isn’t hard to tell that Brad and Angelina had tons of chemistry. Soon enough, they’ll become the talk of the town. “We just became kind of a pair,” Angelina shares.
The two deny rumours surrounding the controversy, and Pitt shut down speculations that he was cheating on Aniston with his co-star. By this time, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston have been married for 5 years since 2000, and following his flirtations with Angelina, Brad and Jen officially split for good.
“This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration.” The two confirm their separation in a joint statement to the public.
When Did Brangelina Get Together?
It’s a little bit hazy as to when Brangelina officially became a couple, but there had been many reports of Brad and Angelina trotting the globe together, so the original hook-up could’ve happened at any point during this time.

Brad is then spotted accompanying Angelina in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where the latter adopts her second kid on July 6, 2005. Welcome to the Jolie family, Zahara Marley!

The End Of An Era
Why Did They Divorce?
Hollywood’s golden couple untied the knot on September 2016. Angelina files for divorce from Brad following an incident at a private plane. It concerns how Brad treated Maddox, and it involves the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services and the FBI. Angelina has made claims against Brad’s parenting and filed the divorce under irreconcilable differences.
The battle for custody is on. Pitt sought joint physical custody, but Angelina’s opposition is strong: no to joint physical custody, yes joint legal custody.
The divorce is driven by the “well-being of our kids” says Angelina to People and “the health of the family” according to Angelina’s entertainment attorney Robert Offer.
By November 2018, Brad and Angelina have come to a temporary custody agreement which allows Pitt visitation rights.
Legally Single, But Not Divorced
E! News recently confirmed that their judge issued a bifurcated judgment, allowing the divorcees to continue being legally single before finalising a divorce settlement and permanent custody agreement.
New Beginnings
What Happened After The Divorce?
And with that, the rest is history. The two have finally gone their separate ways, while still sorting out matters related to the divorce like visitation schedules for their kids.
Brad now spends his time making matcha in his old Craftsman in the Hollywood Hills. He’s lived there since 1994. Brad Pitt sits down with Michael Paterniti from GQ to talk about divorce, quitting drinking, and becoming a better man.
“There have been other properties in other places…but this has always been his kids’ childhood home,” GQ writes. “And even though they’re not here now, he’s decided it’s important that he is.”
“For me, this period has been about looking at my weaknesses and failures and owning my side of the street,” confesses Brad. He now does away with alcohol and sticks to Cranberry juice and fizzy water. He also ran his pot-smoking habits to the ground, simply because he doesn’t “want to live that way anymore.”
On the other side of things, we see Angelina out and about in Paris spending time with her beloved godmother and English actress Jacqueline Bisset. They were seen with big smiles, ultra-luxe accessories, and matching cream outfits. Paparazzi snapped some photos while they were shopping in Paris.
What Is Their Relationship Now?
It’s not looking good for Brad and Angelina since the vicious ongoing battle for custody. It has left things difficult for both the couple and the kids.
However, things are starting to get a little more exciting for Team Jen fans out there. Brad and Jen are officially back! Reports have claimed that they reconnected in Rome thanks to an old-time friend George Clooney.
