The 57-year-old larger than life TV personality took to Instagram on Thursday to share his new role with his 333,000 Instagram followers.

Matt, along with George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan, announced they were leaving the hit show on Tuesday.

Following the news that they would not return next season, Matt took to his Facebook account with a lengthy post writing: “We were really keen to continue but we were unable to agree to all terms for the new contract.”

The Sydney Morning Herald claims that the trio – each on salaries in excess of $1 million – walked after 10 refused to up their pay by more than 40 per cent.

Scandal has rocked George after the Fair Work Commission fined him $200,000 for underpaying 515 staff to the tune of $7.83million between 2011 and 2017.

Staff have been repaid but the scandal lingers with George not only out of his WA tourism gig, but now out of TV as well.

Meanwhile, MasterChef 2019 named Larissa Takchi its 2019 winner, snatching the prize from finalists Simon Toohey and Tessa Boersma.
