AFL legend Garry Sidebottom has passed away following a battle with cancer.
The 64-year-old sports star is said to have died on Thursday, Daily Mail Australia reports.
Mr Sidebottom began his career with the Swans Districts in 1973, and went on to play a total of 114 games kicking 227 goals for the team.
The Swans Districts Club honoured Sidebottom in a statement and offered its “sincerest condolences to all the family, friends and supporters of one of our favourite sons”.
His lengthy career saw him play for St Kilda, Geelong and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Daily Mail say the athlete was known as “a powerful and fearless football player”.
He was inducted into the Western Australia Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
