Today marks Prince Frederik and Princess Mary’s 15th wedding anniversary!
The pair first met at a Sydney CBD pub called the Slip Inn during the 2000 Olympics.
The first year of their relationship was long distance, but Frederik was known to make secret trips to Australia.
Mary then moved to Denmark and their story went from fairy tale to folklore.
The happy couple announced their engagement on October 8, 2003.
“I don’t recall wishing that one day I would be a princess,” Mary said shortly after the engagement. “I wanted to be a veterinarian.”
The world watched in wonder as former real estate agent, Mary, married her prince on May 14, 2004, at Copenhagen Cathedral in the nation’s capital.
And with their wedding, Mary became Australia’s own real life princess.
Frederik and Mary are now the proud parents of four children: Prince Christian (born on October 15, 2005), Princess Isabella (born on April 21, 2007), and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine (born January 8, 2011).
