Why Queen Elizabeth doesn’t approve of Meghan Markle’s pantsuits

It's one of the duchess' go-to looks.

Meghan Markle stepped out in London on Tuesday night in one of her favourite looks – the pantsuit. The Duchess of Sussex has opted to wear a power suit on many official outings, but one royal family member doesn’t approve of the trend.

Queen Elizabeth II, (aka Meghan’s new grandmother-in-law), is reportedly not a fan of Meghan’s continuous decision to wear pantsuits. Her Majesty prefers women in the royal family to wear dresses or skirts.

A source told PEOPLE, that Meghan ‘has found certain rules in the royal household difficult to understand, like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits, and is often asking Harry why things have to be done in a certain way.’

‘I think she finds it a little frustrating at times, but this is her new life, and she has to deal with it,’ adds the source.

Although the Queen might not approve of Meghan’s WellChild Awards pantsuit, we can guarantee she loves her choice of earrings.

Meghan chose to wear her pearl and diamond drop earrings that were gifted to her by Queen Elizabeth. The monarch gifted her new granddaughter-in-law the stunning accessory ahead of their first solo outing together in June, where Meghan showed off the gorgeous present by tucking her hair behind her ears.

The earrings were on full display for their second public outing, as Meghan opted to style her hair in a low side messy bun on Tuesday night.

The WellChild awards is not the first time Meghan has opted to wear pants to a royal outing.

However, the Duchess does know when to play by the rules.

Every outing Meghan has appeared alongside Queen Elizabeth, she has donned appropriate ‘royal’ attire.
