Royal salaries revealed!

Here's what The Queen will pay you

Working for the royal household sounds like a dream come true, but is it really as good as it sounds?

The Queen is estimated to be worth $756 million with an annual income of $149 million and they keep a large number of members on staff.

But, how much do they pay them?

The royal household recently advertised a position for housekeeping assistants at Buckingham Palace and they would be paid just $14.89 an hour.

Back in 2011, they advertised for a trainee butler with a starting salary at only $27,000 – of course you do get to spend time at Balmoral and accommodation is thrown in.

Last year, the Earl and Countess of Wessex needed an assistant gardener to work in the grounds of their home, Bagshot Park near Windsor. The job came with a salary of $33,000 for a 40-hour week with lunch included.

Moving up the scale is the role of a social media specialist. A position was advertised in 2016 with an annual salary of $100,000.

While the private secretary to The Queen herself boasts an income of $266,000 per year.
