Devastating news for the Queen

How sad!

The Queen has been devastated by the death of her 12-year-old corgi named Whisper.

Whisper was one of Her Majesty’s royal favourites after Willow, the last corgi she reared herself, died earlier this year.

‘Whisper was a friendly chap and followed her everywhere,’ a source told The Daily Mail.

‘The Queen has quickly become very attached to the dog.’

Whisper was understood to be quite poorly over the coming weeks, but has proved well enough to travel to Balmoral with the Queen.

However, things took a turn for the worse and poor Whisper’s condition worsened last week and she died six days ago.

The cause of death is unknown but Willow died of a cancer related disease.

The death of Whisper marks the end of a personal connection to Susan, a corgi she received in 1944 for her 18th birthday.

Queen Elizabeth took Whisper on in 2016 after its owner and former Sandringham Game Keeper Bill Fenwick died.

‘The Fenwicks looked after their corgis like the Queen did so she knew there would be no problem if Whisper came to the Palace,’ An aide said. There was only one real change for Whisper – the spelling of her name.

‘When the dog was born it was named Wispa after the chocolate bar,’ an insider explains. ‘The Queen thought it was a bit obscure and preferred the proper spelling.’
