The Bachelor’s Deanna ‘I don’t have a nice thing to say about Cat’

The Bachelor star talks bullies, rumours and Nick

This season of The Bachelor certainly hasn’t been short on drama and intruder Deanna Salvemini isn’t impressed with some of the girls behaviour behind the scenes.

After being called out for bullying in last week’s episode, Cat was sent packing by Bachelor, Nick Cummins, and Romy left the mansion shortly after, walking out at the rose ceremony.

Now, Deanna is opening up on how she really feels about the girls behaviour in the house.

‘Not to say that Romy and Cat are bad people, but unfortunately, I never got to see a nice side to them,’ Deanna tells New Idea.

‘I know they say it could be editing that made it look like that, but, what they show on TV is all that I saw.’

After failing to capture Nick’s heart and win a rose in tonight’s episode, Deanna chats to New Idea about what went on, and addresses those rumours about Brooke and Jamie’s relationship.

We are sorry to see you go, how did it feel when you didn’t receive a rose?

I sort of saw it coming. I went into this rose ceremony and I knew that it was going to be Jamie or myself because we were the only two in there that hadn’t had time with Nick or form a connection.

It is always hard being the intruder, how did you find the girls reception when you arrived?

It was like your first day at school again, you feel like the outsider. On my first cocktail party I was getting to know everyone and I remember Cat jumping down my throat at something I said which wasn’t bad at all. So, she bought herself into the drama and into a bad light in my view quite early, and Romy as well, they were not very welcoming.

Cat and Romy both left after being called out for bullying, did you ever see or experience this?

Watching the episodes back and seeing Cat body shame me was really horrible and I don’t think anyone should have to go through that, its bullying and no one wants that. It’s a hard environment for everyone to deal with, and it just made the environment feel like we were walking on egg shells. I felt really sorry for the girls that were in there for having to put up with it. It was really nasty.

What was the vibe in the house like after they left the show?

The next morning, we woke up and it was like a weight had been lifted off everyone’s shoulders.

Brooke came out as bisexual to Nick on tonight’s episode – did she confide in your before she told Nick?

We all knew, she was never hiding anything. She was just waiting for the right time to tell Nick. Everyone was very encouraging because it’s part of who she is.

There are rumours that Brooke and Jamie Lee – who is also bisexual – became more than friends on the show. What do you think about that?

Nah, Jamie, Brooke, Cass and I would all hang out and we all spent equal amounts of time with each other, so it’s just silly that that’s even a rumour. There was no secret connections being started behind closed doors, everyone was there for Nick.

After seeing the girl’s chemistry with Nick in the house, who do you think will win?

It’s hard to say because he kissed so many girls and watching the episodes it looks like he had great chemistry with a lot of them. Looking back at their dates I’m like, ‘gosh I had no chance!’

Do you think Nick will propose in the finale?

Proposing is a big deal and you would want to know someone before proposing to them. I would be very surprised if he does.

Are you dating anyone since leaving the show?

I’m still single and looking for the one.
