Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank wed at St George’s Chapel at Windsor in a fairytale ceremony. Now, the mother of the bride, Sarah Ferguson, has revealed how the couple spent their honeymoon eve, giving an answer nobody expected.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Fergie opened up about her daughter’s Royal Wedding and gave incredibly rare insight into how the newlywed couple spent their time afterwards.

The couple decided to spend the night with their family, opting out of a fancy hotel.

Fergie explained: “The Sunday after the wedding, I said to Eugenie and Jack: ‘Do you want to stay somewhere special?’

“No. They wanted to stay at Royal Lodge.”

“So the night before their honeymoon, the whole family were eating pizza together in the kitchen,” she adds.

The royal couple also made news this week after their handwritten notes made their way on social media.

Eugenie and Jack took the time to send out individual notes to those that thanked them on their wedding day.

On the front is a formal portrait of the bride and groom with their adorable bridesmaids and page boys, taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, and inside is the hand-written message, beneath the couple’s monogram; their embossed initials intertwined

The card reads, “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding so special and for thinking of us as we start our married life,’ the couple wrote. ‘We are completely overwhelmed with happiness. Eugenie and Jack”.

Speaking to FEMAIL, etiquette expert William Hanson said: “Gratitude is dying in modern Britain, but I am so glad to see that it is alive and well in the Royal Household.

“The letters from Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank are charming examples of the perfect thank you letter. They are not too short, but not too long; succinct and heartfelt.

“They show that the couple has excellent manners.”
