It’s an exciting time for Sam ‘Sam Mac’ McMillam, who has been nominated for the coveted Gold Logie award.

The weatherman will walk the red carpet at the Logies on Sunday night, before going head-to-head with Tom Gleeson, Amanda Keller, Waleed Aly, Costa Georgiadis, Eve Morey and Rodger Corser for the top gong.
“It’s a huge honour and I just want to make it fun,” Sam tells New Idea.
“I want to make it entertaining and fun regardless of what happens on the Sunday night!”
Live voting is now open until the end of the red carpet telecast on June 30, and Sam is a favourite to take out the award.
But, the 36-year-old is also thinking about adding another feather to his cap.
The TV personality has revealed that he would love to score a spot on the long-running Seven drama Home and Away.
“We are actually campaigning to get a spot, like a cameo, on Home and Away,” he laughs.
What’s more, the popular presenter – who documents his travels in a weekly column for New Idea – reveals that he is no stranger to acting, having starred in his own low-budget comedy/variety TV show Sam Mac’s Single Bed.
“I’ve acted in comedy sketches and things,” he says.
“Characters – I do some characters. So, I guess I kind of do a little bit of that without officially being an actor or doing acting training.”
