Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has done it again, with the Aussie-born style queen looking gorgeous in a kimono-inspired wrap dress at an awards event in Copenhagen.

Taking on many of the characteristics of a more traditional wrap, but with the brightly coloured boarder print fabric and bell sleeve giving it a kimono feel, the outfit was a hit with New Idea’s style expert Sally Nolan.

‘Princess Mary is radiant in this dress from Italian fashion house, Etro,’ says Sally. ‘Fuchsia is a perfect colour for brunettes and this bold frock shows how confident Mary is in her fashion choices.’

It’s been a busy time for the royal of late, after returning from a sailing holiday with husband Prince Frederik and kids Prince Christian, 12, Princess Isabella, 11, and Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, seven.

The trip took them around Danish coastal towns and was an escape from the rigours of royal life.

‘We tried our hand at blowing glass at the working workshop Backhaus-Brown and Glassmedjen, and then we also visited the carpentry workshop Egeværk,’ Princess Mary said.

‘We were also past the polar scientist Knud Rasmussen’s home. He could tell my husband many stories about the children. It was a lovely day.’

But things haven’t been completely blissful of late. According to reports, the family have recently undergone anti-terrorist training after security advisors revealed there was a perceived increase in threat levels.

It is believed that the Rote Armme Fraktion (Red Army Faction) – a far-left militant organisation – is associated with the threat. Since its development in 1970, the organisation has been involved in bombings, assassinations and kidnappings.

These sorts of preparations aren’t unusual for members of a royal family. In fact, it is believed that Meghan Markle undertook staged kidnapping training with elite army forces before her wedding to Prince Harry.
