Queen Elizabeth II is known for her decorum and decency, leading the royal family in the most stoic way for over 60 years.

But resurfaced footage of Her Majesty at Epsom Derby in 1992 has shown another side to the monarch.

In the fantastic footage, which is from the 1992 BBC documentary Elizabeth R: A Year in the Life of the Queen, the Queen is seen running outside and into the royal box, shouting and cheering as her horse wins the race.

Queen Elizabeth’s love of horses and horse racing is well known, however royal fans may be shocked to see her in such an unguarded state as she cheers on her mare, then sprints to watch her horse win the derby.

At first, Her Majesty can be seen inside, watching the race on the TV and commenting on her horse’s performance.

She says: “Look at it, on the wrong leg!

“No wonder it cannot go round the corner!”

As the horses approach the finish line, she runs into the royal box.

Realising her horse has won, she cheerily tells the Queen Mother: “That’s my horse.

“Oh my god, mother! We won!”
